Fixes and new features
SharePoint 2010 Service Pack 1 includes cumulative updates from June 2010 to April 2011. Additionally it has the following enhancements and new features:
- Shallow copy functionality
Allows you to move a site collection from one content database to another without moving unstructured data (RBS). See the white paper for requirements.
- Site-level recycle bin
Allows you to recover deleted sites and site collections.
- Improvements to storage management
Gives you a granular insight into storage allowing you to clean large content on sites.
- Additional browser support
IE9 (in IE8 standards mode) and Chrome are now supported
- Cascading filters for Performance Point services
- Improved backup / restore functionality for SharePoint Server
- Support for SQL Server 2011 (Denali)
